<b><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">First Sermon</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Indeed, All praises are to Allah. O Allah, we praise You, beseech You for help and forgiveness and we turn to You for guidance. Whomever Allah guides to the straight path will never go astray, and he who has gone astray, no one can guide. We bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, the only God Who has no associate. We also bear witness that our master Muhammad is the servant and Messenger of Allah, the noblest of all mankind, the seal of the Prophets and Messengers. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet, his honorable family, his righteous companions and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dear brothers and sisters, I urge myself first and all of you to be God-fearing and be submissive to Him. Verily, Allah, Exalted Be He, has declared the truth in His Holy Book:"O you who believe! Fear God as He should be fear, and die not except in a state of Islam."(3:102). Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:" One who is willing to accept Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion and Muhammad as God's Messenger has savored the taste of faith."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dear believers, Contentment is a fundamental requirement of faith. It is reflected in peace of soul and mind and satisfaction with what the Almighty has granted us in this world. It is also a strong inner belief that Allah chooses the best and the most beneficial for His servants. Contentment is a feeling of gratification and happiness with what one has which leads to a relief from fear and anxiety. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: The peak of faith is based on four: patience, contentment with fate, sincere reliance and submission to the will of Allah, The All-Glory. Further, the Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab once wrote to Abu Musa al-Asha'ri (may Allah be well pleased with both of them) "All goodness resides in contentment, if you are capable of being content. If not, you must be patient."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anyone who surrenders to Allah and is content with destiny, will willingly accept both blessing and calamity. One who relies on Allah and entrusts oneself to Him believes that everything Allah sends is for a good purpose. A good Muslim will not beg people for money and would not do anything that would lower one's dignity to anyone but Allah. Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:" Who will accept one condition and I will guarantee Paradise for him? Thawban said:"I said: I am, O Messenger of Allah. He said:" Do not beg people for anything."The sub narrator said: Thawaban's whip would fall while he was riding his camel, but did not ask anyone to hand it to him. He used to get down to take it himself."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Contentment is satisfaction with what one has. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "The greatest wealth you can attain is to be pleased and content with what Allah gave you."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Saad ibn Abi Waqqas came to Madina, and he was blind, people came to him in a hurry, everyone asking him for supplication, for Allah would answer his dua'a. Abdul Allah bin Asae'b told him: you are supplicating Allah for everyone, why don't you supplicate for youself so Allah will give you back your vision. He smiled and said: my son, submission to the destiny of Allah is better for me than my vision."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dear believers, There is no conflict between being content and being ambitious. The contradiction lies in our misunderstanding; being content doesn't means that one does not aspire to achieve more; and being ambitious to achieve more, is not a sign that you're not content. The servant of Allah is ordained to be submissive to the Truth and Destiny of Allah, Exalted Be He, and at the same time be ambitious. You must never be complacent about your good deeds that can make you live decently and gain the satisfaction of Allah in the Hereafter. Indeed, Almighty Allah says in the Qur'an:"Whoever works righteousness, man or woman. And has Faith, verily, to him We give a new life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according ot the best of their actions."(16:97).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dear Muslims, We may be afflicted with a misfortune or a calamity such as the death of a child or the loss of a beloved one. Crying in this case does not contradict contentment, as long as one is not angry, upset or impatient. Indeed, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) cried when He lost his son Ibrahim. He (pbuh) said that one may feel sad, and cry, but must not say anything that would not please Allah, Exalted be He.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It is impossible to find peace of mind and heart in this world without surrendering to Allah and his destiny. Many people mistakenly seek the support and the guardianship of beings who are powerless to achieve anything, and turn their back to the comfort of self satisfaction. Moreover, people who are never satisfied with what they have are always worried and lack peace and happiness. Muslim must seek the help of All-powerful instead of impotent human beings. Verily, contentment will relieve him/her from worries and anxiety whatever the situation may be.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A major benefit of contentment is to direct all our energy and time to seek the acceptance and forgiveness of Allah. Thus, we follow the good ethics outlined in the Qur'an. Bear in mind, dear Muslim, that Allah rewards contented people with His blessings. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "Allah makes calamity befall His servant, if he is content with what Allah gives him, Allah will send Baraka and more blessings to him."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say" If you are pleased with Allah, Allah will be pleased with you. Give Allah His rights for He says, Exalted be He:"God well-pleased with them, and they with God."(5:119).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">O Allah, we seek Your help to be content and to obey You and those You have ordained us to obey. We implore Allah to make us of the people of the Qur'an, those who recite its words and apply its rulings. We beseech You, O Allah, for help to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Second Sermon</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">O servants of Allah, fear and obey Allah Who tests us to distinguish the believer from the disbeliever. Indeed, Allah tests His servants through calamities or wealth and children. Wealth may distract human beings from Allah, good deeds and the Day of Judgment. A less fortunate person may be fear obey,love Allah and seek refuge in Him in distress. Allah will grant the latter good in this life and the Hereafter. Please remember, dear brothers and sisters, that if you lose a job or a business deal, or you unable to marry the one you wants, or you miss any opportunity, Allah knows what is best for you. Be content with it for Allah shall bestow other favors on you.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Missing out in life may open for you the gates of His mercy and forgiveness.</span></div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“The true religion with Allah is Islam." (Qur’an, 3:19).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"And whoever desires another religion than Islam, it shall not be accepted of him.” (Qur’an, 3:85)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islam is a true religion. It is the religion of Allah the Almighty and his beloved Messenger, Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Islam is one of the major religions of the world, with Muslims making 20% of the total population of the world. It is also one of the fastest growing religions in the world. These are some of the several reasons for which I am proud to be a Muslim.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islam is a complete way of life. The Holy Qur’an and the Hadith teach us how to live a civilized </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">life. Islam teaches us purity and encourages cleanliness. It teaches us respect towards our parents and elders. It teaches us to help the less fortunate, by giving alms and charity to them. There is equality in Islam. All Muslims are equal in the eyes of Allah, whether they are Arabs, African or Indian. There is unity among Muslims. Each Muslim helps his fellow Muslim brother. These beautiful attributes of Islam make me proud to be a Muslim.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The most important reason for which I am proud of Islam is the Holy Prophet, Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is the greatest prophet of Allah. There is not a single prophet or a man that can match the qualities of our beloved Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. He was a preacher, a statesman and a ruler. His sunnah is the best example a Muslim can follow. He is still considered the greatest leader by many non-Muslims in the West.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islam has also had a huge influence on the entire world. This is another important reason that makes me proud of Islam. Muslim scientists and scholars formed the basis of the European Renaissance. Muslim mathematicians and scientists were important contributors to medicine, technology and philosophy. Islamic medicine and science influenced Europe greatly during the fifteenth century.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Muslims should be proud of their religion. They should not be embarrassed to be Muslims. Allah the Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an, “You are the best of the nations raised up for (the benefit of) mankind; you enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong and believe in Allah.” (3:110)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Muslims are the best nation created by Allah. We were created in the best stature and will remain so, as long as we obey Allah. He says in the Qur’an, “Surely, we created man of the best stature; Then we reduced him to the lowest of low; Except such as believe and do righteous deeds. For they shall have a reward unfailing.” (95:4-6)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The companions of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam were proud of being Muslims. For this reason, they were able to defeat the non-believers and were able to conquer so many parts of the world. They did not hide themselves in a corner, afraid to declare their faith. They were proud of their religion. An excellent example of this display of Muslim pride was Abu Dharr Ghifari. He accepted Islam at a time when Muslims were being tortured and persecuted. After accepting Islam, the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam told him not to tell anyone in Makkah about his acceptance of Islam because the non-believers might kill him. But Abu Dharr vowed to proclaim his faith. He told the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam that he would go to the Sacred Mosque and proclaim his faith. The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam remained silent. Later, he went to the Holy Ka’ba, where the Quraish were sitting and talking. He called out in a loud voice, “O people of Quraish, I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” Immediately, they jumped on him and began to beat him cruelly. But Hadrat Abbas, the Prophet’s uncle saw him and told the Quraish to stop beating him up, since he belonged to the Ghifar tribe of Syria and his death could end the trade between Syria and Makkah.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This sahabi had so much pride in his religion that he announced it in front of his enemies, even at the risk of his life. We should be proud of our religion. We are not supposed to hide our faith unless our lives are in danger like the time when Muslims were being persecuted in Makkah. But once they had the strength to defend themselves, they spread their religion. They took the message of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to different people and different kings. They were proud of their religion because they knew that Islam was and is the truth. They knew that their duty was to spread Islam.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am proud to be a Muslim and I feel that Muslims should be proud of their religion. They should display their faith and should be proud to be a part of this beautiful religion called Islam.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">[Click </span><a href="http://www.islamweb.net/emainpage/index.php?page=articles&id=111867" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;" target="_blank">here</a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: left;"> </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">to visit the source of this post. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Allah bless the owner/s of this article. Amin.</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islam is an all-embracing way of life. It extends over the entire spectrum of life, showing us how to conduct all human activities in a sound and wholesome manner. It does not allow a hierarchy of priests or intermediaries between Allaah and human beings, no farfetched abstractions and no complicated rites and rituals.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">E</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">verybody can readily understand the Quran and follow in the footsteps of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">sallam), to the best of his or her ability, assured by Allaah that He will accept the deeds that each soul has the ability to offer (what means): "On no soul does Allaah place a burden greater than it can bear." [Quran 2:286]</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When we read the Quran or the Prophetic traditions, we find instructions regarding all aspects of life: political, social, economic, material, ethical, national and international. These instructions provide us with all the details needed to perform a certain act. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Prophetic traditions go as far as showing us all the steps we need to follow, even the etiquette of using the bathroom: supplications to be said upon entering it and leaving it, how to clean ourselves properly and so on. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">To summarize, Islam governs a Muslim's life in all its aspects. This is the reason why it is not only a religion but also a way of life. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islam does not recognize any kind of separation between religion and life. It openly rejects the Western saying: "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto God what is God's"; for everything should be dedicated to God alone and a Muslim is required to submit himself completely to the Will of Allaah in all his affairs (what means): "Say: ‘Truly, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. No partner has He: this am I commanded, and I am the first of those who submit to His Will.’" [Quran 6:162]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islam does not believe in wishful thinking. It clearly states that righteous conduct must be followed by belief in Allaah. The Quran says (what means): "For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never (fail)." [Quran 41:8]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And (what means):"Those who believe and work righteousness, joy is for them and a blissful place of (final) return." [Quran 13:29]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islam, as the revealed Religion from Allaah, is comprehensive and perfect. Its Divine Book, the Quran, is the most comprehensive book available to mankind for guidance ¾ nothing has been omitted from it. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In order to guide mankind to the Right Religion, Allaah has completed His Divine Favor upon us by making Islam the Perfect Religion. The last message that Allaah has sent to His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) for our Divine Guidance is the perfection of Islam.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As we mentioned above, when we read the Quran or the Prophetic traditions, we find instructions regarding all aspects of life. The following are some Quranic verses and Ahaadeeth (traditions), which reflect the comprehensiveness of Islamic economic, social, religious and cultural values.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fair/Honest Dealing in Trading, Buying and Selling</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Allaah Says (what means): “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allaah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: and fear Allaah. For Allaah is well-acquainted with all that you do.” [Quran 5:8]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hakim bin Hizam narrated that Allaah’s Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods), then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost.” [Al-Bukhaari]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Weighing/ Measuring of Goods for Business</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Allaah Says (what means): “Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with an even (i.e., honest) balance. That is the best (way) and best in result.” [Quran 17:35]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Prohibition of Bribery</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Allaah Says (what means): "And do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly or send it (in bribery) to the rulers in order that (they might aid) you (to) consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know (it is unlawful).” [Quran 2:188]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">‘Abdullaah bin ‘Amr bin al-’Aas narrated that he heard Allaah’s Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) saying: "Fornication will not appear among any people without their being punished by famine, and bribery will not appear among any people without their being punished by terror.” [At-Tirmithi]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Muslims claims that Islam is the eternal religion. Any claim of this kind invites people to judge its validity on historical grounds. If latter day history testifies to its claim, it stands endorsed, otherwise it must be rejected. Marxism in the 20th century CE is a clear-cut example of historical rejection. According to his concept of historical determinism, Karl Marx held that modern industrial Capitalism bore within it the seeds of its own destruction. He further observed that according to its own inherent laws, its antithesis would emerge which </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">would destroy it whereupon a new synthesis would come into being. But, quite contrary to his prediction, industrial Capitalism has not only survived, but is making great progress. Historical events have thus buried Marxist theory. Then there is the case of Adolph Hitler who made grandiose claims that Germans were the “master race” and were destined to rule over all of Europe. The rout of Hitler and his Nazi party at the end of World War II put paid to all such theorizing.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">B</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">ut the case of Islam is quite different. Even </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">after a period of more than 1400 years, Islam has suffered no erosion of its validity. The well known British historian, Edward Gibbon, describes the rise and expansion of Islam as: “one of the most memorable revolutions which has impressed a new and lasting character on the nations of the globe.”</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">An Indian historian, M.N. Roy, has observed: “Muhammad must be recognized as by far the greatest of all prophets, before or after him.” He goes on to say that “the expansion of Islam is the most miraculous of all miracles.” (The Historical Role of Islam, pp. 4-5)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The American writer, Michael Hart, in his book, “The 100” has made a selection of the 100 most influential persons in history, who have achieved the most outstanding success in this world. Right at the top of this list is the Prophet Muhammad of whom the author writes: “He was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both religious and secular levels.”</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The great success that Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had predicted for his mission at the very outset came true. This success came in spite of the stiff opposition which Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) faced right from the beginning, both from within his own family and from the outside world. This was in 610 CE, the year when he first started receiving divine revelations. At this stage he felt totally helpless. But then, in this adverse situation, he received a revelation from Allaah, which says (what means): “They want to extinguish Allaah’s light with their mouths. But Allaah will perfect His light, even though the unbelievers may detest it. It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, so that he may exalt it over all religions, much as the pagans may dislike it.” [Quran 61:8-9]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">At the very beginning of his prophetic career, the Quran declared that Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would certainly succeed in his mission. All his opponents, however powerful they might be, would ultimately be defeated. (This is pointed out at several places in the Quran in different wording). In history we find numerous personalities who began their work with towering claims, but none of them achieved the success they envisioned. Throughout human history, Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is the only exception to this rule, in that his predictions were fulfilled to the fullest extent.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Through the efforts of the Prophet and his companions, a unique event took place: starting from scratch, they succeeded in extending their influence to the entire populated world of that age. During this brief period, they not only conquered Arabia but also succeeded in crushing the two great empires of their time – the Roman and the Sasanid empires. This exceptional phase in history has been almost universally acknowledged by historians.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Quran was revealed prior to the modern age of knowledge, yet 1400 years ago at the time of its revelation, the Quran declared that the proof of its divine origin lay in its being in complete accordance with historical facts and its consistency with contemporary discoveries and those that might be made in future times. Advances may be made in human knowledge, but they will never contradict Quranic statements. To a remarkable degree, latter day history has testified to this. While many statements contained in all the ancient books have been at loggerheads with the latest scientific discoveries, the Quran is unique in steering clear of all such contradiction.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As the Quran says (which means): “Do they not ponder on the Quran? Had it been from other than God, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy.” [Quran 4:82]. (The word “discrepancy” here means inconsistency, that is, a Quranic statement not agreeing with eternal knowledge).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Much has been written on this aspect of the Quran in modern times. The French scientist, Maurice Bucaille, has shown in detail in his book, The Bible, The Quran and Modern Science, how the statements contained in the Quran are astonishingly in exact accordance with the discoveries of modern science. This shows that the Quran perfectly comes up to the scientific standards.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This development of human knowledge in favor of Quranic contents is no mere accident. It is another historical proof that the Quran is a Book revealed by the Creator of the Universe, Whose Knowledge is not bound by the limitations of space and time. Hence we find in the Quran a unique prediction to this effect (what means): “We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and in their own souls, untill they clearly see that it is the truth.” [Quran 41:53]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">After completing his comparative study of the Quran and modern science, Maurice Bucaille comes to this conclusion :</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“In view of the level of knowledge in Muhammad’s day, it is inconceivable that many of the statements in the Quran which are connected with science could have been the work of a man. It is moreover, perfectly legitimate, not only to regard the Quran as the expression of a Revelation, but also to award it a very special place, on account of the guarantee of authenticity it provides and the presence in it of scientific satements which, when studied today, appear as a challenge to explanation in human terms.” (p. 252)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">To sum up, there is no other scripture that, having challenged all of mankind to disprove its authenticity as the Quran did, finally gained total rational support for its supernatural origin and veracity, even from its most bitter opponents. And there is no other historic figure whose future success was as uncertain as that of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) who was finally crowned with such supreme success.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islâm is the only divine revealed religion from Allâh, the One and Only True God of all mankind. It is no less than Allâh Who says that it is the Right Religion but most people do not know it (Qur’ân, 12:40 and 30:30). Islâm as the right religion, enjoins nothing but righteousness. Likewise, it prohibits wrong and evil deeds. Unfortunately most people do not know the virtuous Islâmic teachings. To guide all mankind with the right religion and complete way of life, Allâh our Creator and Sustainer has commanded Muslims to enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good (i.e., Islâm), enjoining what is right, </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">and forbidding what is wrong: they are the ones to attain felicity.” (3:104) </span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“The Believers, men and women, are protectors, one to another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil . . .” (9:71)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Prophet Muhammad r also enjoins us to observe righteousness and forbid evil deeds. The following are some of the Ahâdith (Teachings of Prophet Muhammad r), which show how Allâh’s Messenger r enjoins us to the virtuous teaching of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Abû Sa ‘id Al-Khudri t narrated that he heard Allâh’s Messenger r as saying, “He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has no strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue. And if he has no strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart and that is the least of faith.” (Muslim 79)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud t narrated that Allâh’s Messenger r said, “…By no means, I swear by Allâh, you must enjoin what is good and prohibit what is evil, prevent the wrongdoer, bend him into conformity with what is right, and restrict him to what is right.” (Abû Dâwûd 4322)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Islâm encourages its Believers to be righteous and, at the same time, to invite Non-Muslims to righteousness. Righteousness is one of the keys to Paradise:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness that their portion is Gardens beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruits therein they say: ‘Why this is what we were fed with before’; for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions (pure and holy); and they abide therein (for ever).” (2:25)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“Praise be to Allâh Who has sent to His Servant the Book and has allowed therein no Crookedness. (He has made it) Straight (and Clear) in order that He may warn (the godless) of a terrible Punishment from Him. And that He may give Glad Tidings to the Believers who work righteous deeds: that they shall have a goodly Reward, wherein they shall remain forever.” (18:1-3)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“You will see the wrongdoers in fear on account of what they have earned and (the burden of) that must (necessarily) fall on them. But those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in the luxuriant mead of the Gardens. They shall have before their Rabb all that they wish for: that will indeed be the magnificent Bounty (of Allâh). That is (the Bounty) whereof Allâh gives Glad Tidings to His Servants who believe and do righteous deeds...” (42:22-23)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Allâh’s Messenger r not only enjoins us to adhere to righteousness but also encourages us to call people to it:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Abû Hurairah t narrated that Allâh’s Messenger r said, “He who called people to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like those who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any respect.” (Muslim, 4/6470)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thawban t narrated that Allâh’s Messenger r said, “Adhere to righteousness which you will not be able to do completely, bear in mind that the best act (amongst your deeds) is the prayer, and no one is so much particular about ablution but a believer.” (Tirmidhî, 292 and Ibn Mâjah)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The best among mankind in the sight of our Creator is he who is most righteous. Allâh the Almighty tells us:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allâh is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allâh has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).” (49: 13)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Furthermore, Allâh instructs the Believers to help one another in righteousness and piety (5:2). He makes it clear that He loves the righteous (9:4) and those who do good (5:93). It is therefore, an act of righteousness on the part of the Believers to invite others to all that is good.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Non-Muslims should know that Islâm is the only Religion and the only Way of Life that teaches us the true meaning of righteousness based on divine injunctions. Allâh says in His Book:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is not righteousness that you turn your faces toward East or West; but it is righteousness to believe in Allâh and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfill the contracts which you have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-fearing. (2:177) </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The above verse tells us that the righteous are those who are truly God-fearing. They show their true and sincere faith in Allâh not only by praying to Him but also by giving charity, fulfilling contracts, and being firm and patient in whatever trials that Allâh may bring to them. Allâh’s Messenger r defines righteousness as follows:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Wabisha Ibn Wa’bad t narrated that Allâh’s Messenger r said, “…Righteousness is that with which the soul is tranquil and the heart is tranquil, but sin is that which rouses suspicion in the soul and is perplexing in the breast, even if people give you a decision in its favor.” (Tirmidhî, 2774)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
From the above definitions of righteousness in Islâm, the righteous individuals are expected to be assets and not liabilities to the society, to which they belong, and to humanity as a whole. In line with the concept of righteousness, Allâh guides us as to how we may attain righteousness. He tells us:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you give (freely) of that which you love; and whatever you give, of a truth Allâh knows it well.” (3:92) </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To be righteous, we have to give wholeheartedly of the things that we love. We should give charitable gifts to others out of our sincere feeling to please Allâh and not because we want people to recognize us. To give freely of that which we love implies that Allâh enjoins upon the righteous to love one another. This is in line with His divine attribute as One Who is Full of Loving-kindness (85:14). Allâh bestows love on those who believe and work deeds of righteousness (19:96). He is the Rabb (Only God, Cherisher and Sustainer) of Grace, Abounding (57:29). He listens to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness and gives them an increase of His Bounty (42:26). He grants the need of every creature (55:29). His bounties are not closed to any one (17:20). This is the reason why non-Muslims who desire and work for material prosperity, fame and other worldly needs in this world become wealthy, famous or attain worldly success. They receive Allâh’s reward for any righteous deed or virtuous act done in this world. If they desire happiness in this present world and work for it, Allâh grants them their need. However, their happiness is nothing but temporary. In the next world to come, they will suffer the eternal and grieve punishments for not worshipping the Only True God and/or accepting the only true Religion before Allâh. Allâh the Almighty stresses:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“This is the Guidance of Allâh with which He guides whomsoever He wills of His slaves. But if they had joined in worship others with Allâh, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them.” (6:88)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“If anyone desires a religion other than Islâm (submission to Allâh), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).” (3:85)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Allâh the Exalted has commanded us who expect to meet Him to worship Him alone and do righteousness (18:110). He has commanded us to serve Him with sincere devotion (39:14). He makes it very clear that sincere devotion is due to Him alone (39:3). He further commands us to obey Him and His Messenger r if we want our deeds not to be futile (47:33). In other words, if we Muslims do all the good deeds solely for Allâh’s Pleasure and we follow the Qur’ân and the Sunnah, the Almighty will reward us, if not in this world, then surely in the Hereafter. Allâh will surely grant us eternal peace, prosperity and happiness in Paradise. For the salvation of the Non-Muslims and the hypocrites, they must sincerely embrace and practice Islâm based on the Qur’ân and the Sunnah so that whatever good deeds or righteousness they do will be rewarded and not be in vain or futile. Verily, Allâh is ever just to all those who believe and follow Him:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Allah is never unjust in the least degree. If there is any good (done), He doubles it, and gives from His Own self a great reward.” (4:40)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anas ibn Mâlik t narrated that Allâh’s Messenger r said: “Verily, Allâh does not treat a Believer unjustly in regard to his virtues. He would confer upon him (His blessings) in this world and would give him reward in the Hereafter. And as regards a non-believer, he would be made to taste the reward (of virtue in this world) what he has done for himself so much when it would be the Hereafter, he would find no virtue for which he should be rewarded.” (Muslim 6739)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Qur’ân mentions more divine injunctions on righteousness for the benefit of mankind. In Islâm, righteousness covers all virtuous teachings. Examples are truthfulness, equality, justice, and peace. Allâh not only commands the believers to fear Him but to be with those who are truthful. He tells us that the one who does wrong is he who tells a lie concerning Him and rejects the Truth (39:32). He will reward the people of Truth for their Truth, and punish those who deny it (33:24). He has prescribed the law of equality to the believer. Whoever exceeds the limits that Allâh has set shall have a grave chastisement (2:178). He has ordained for us to observe: “Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal.” If anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself (5:45). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another excellent Qur’ânic teaching that Allâh enjoins upon us is justice. Our Creator commands us to render back our trusts to whom they are due and when we judge between man and man, that we judge with justice (4:58). We are to stand firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allâh, even against ourselves, our parents, or our kin, whether rich or poor. Never should we decline to do justice because Allâh knows all that we do (4:135). He tells us not to depart from justice. To be just, according to Him, is next to Piety (5:8). We have to stand firm for justice to orphans (4:127). We have to give measure and weight with (full) justice. Whenever we speak, we ought to speak justly, even if a near relative is concerned (6:152). Though Allâh has permitted a believing man to marry women of his choice, two, three or four, He has stipulated justice as a condition. If the man cannot treat them equally, then, he should marry only one (4:3). To make justice prevail, Allâh has enjoined the believers to fight against the oppressors (2:193 and 8:39).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Believers are expected to promote peace among them and to the rest of humanity. To promote peace, Allâh the Exalted commands us to extend and answer greetings of peace to others (4:86). He enjoins us also to establish treaties of peace to those who do not fight us (4:90). Furthermore, our Creator commands us the following: to fear Him and be with those who are truthful (9:119); to help one another in righteousness and piety and not in sin and rancor (5:2); to be moderate in our pace and lower our voices (31:19); to show kindness not only to our parents, kin and the orphans but to all those in need; to speak fair to the people (2:83); to repel (evil) with what is better (41:34); to exercise self-restraint (41:35); to be charitable (2:270, 274); to give zakat (charity) (2:277); to establish regular prayer, enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong and bear with patient constancy whatever befalls us (31:17). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Allâh the Most Glorious also commands us to patiently persevere as He shall test us with something of fear, hunger, loss in wealth, lives, and the fruits (of our toil) (2:153 and 155). If (at any time) an incitement to discord is made by Satan, Allâh tells us to seek refuge in Him (41:36).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To maintain peace among mankind, our Rabb forbids: all indecent deeds, evil and rebellion (16:90), transgression (59:19), mischief (28:77), arrogance, selfishness, niggardliness (4: 36- 37), pride (31:18), ungratefulness (2:276), boasting (4:38), envy (2:109), making oaths to deceive others (16:92), dishonesty (3:161), slandering (68:11), laughing at others, sarcastic attitude, nor calling others by offensive nicknames, suspicion, spying, or speaking ill of others behind their backs (49:11-12). In Islâm, to speak maliciously about someone in his absence is an abominable act. Corollary to this, Allâh has asked us to avoid suspicion as much as possible (49: 12). If a wicked person tells us something against someone else, we should not immediately accept it as true information. If a sinner comes to us with any news we have to ascertain the truth in order not to harm people unwittingly (49:6).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other forbidden acts in Islâm include: indecent deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; rebellion (49:7); drinking wine and gambling (2:219 and 5:90-91); usury (2:275-276); extravagance (6:141 and 17:26); stealing; adultery and fornication, killing of children; slandering; and forging falsehood (60:12). Furthermore, He has prohibited the taking of life, which He has made sacred, except by way of justice and law (6:151). A believer should never kill a believer; but (if it so happens) by mistake, then, compensation is due (4:92). If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell (4:93).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In order to avoid evil deeds, Allâh commands us to show enmity to Satan, the accursed. Allâh directs us away from evil thoughts and deeds. He reminds us not to let Satan seduce us to follow his way for he is an avowed enemy to us. Allâh the Exalted admonishes us: </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
O you who believe follow not Satan’s footsteps. If any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong. And were it not for the grace and mercy of Allâh on you, not one of you would ever have been pure. But Allâh does purify whom He pleases. And Allâh is One Who hears and knows (all things). (24: 21)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Verily Satan is an enemy to you: so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his adherents, that they may become companions of the Blazing Fire.” (35: 6)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We have to avoid Satan by all means. Allâh reminds us that Satan makes promises, only to deceive us. Satan only wants us to go astray. Those who take Satan as a friend will surely dwell in Hell. Our Creator makes clear to us:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Satan threatens you with poverty and bids you to conduct unseemly. Allâh promises you His forgiveness and bounties. And Allâh cares for all and He knows all things.” (2:268)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Whoever forsaking Allâh, takes Satan for a friend, has of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest. Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but Satan's promises are nothing but deception. They (his dupes) will have their dwelling in Hell, and from it they will find no way of escape.” (4:119-121)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Allâh is our Guardian Rabb (2:21-22) and Protector (2:257). The following verses in the Qur’ân should enlighten the Non-Muslims and make them realize that Allâh guides us to seek His protection from Satan’s influence:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“If a suggestion from Satan assails your (mind), seek refuge with Allâh; for He hears and knows (all things). Those who fear Allâh, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allâh to remembrance, when verily, they see (aright)!” (7: 200-201)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Non-Muslims and the hypocrites who do not believe in Islam as the right religion from Allah must ponder upon the many righteous deeds that Islâm has enjoined upon all mankind. They must accept the Truth that Islam alone is the religion that completely teaches righteousness and forbids evil. Islam forbids all mankind to refrain and avoid all evil deeds as they are from Satan. It clearly guides us to fight against Satan and not to let Satan and his followers deceive us. It protects us from committing sins so that we will not dwell in the hell-fire, which Allah has prepared for Satan and those who deny Islâm. For the guidance and salvation, of the Non-Muslims and the hypocrites, they must not let Satan enter in their hearts and minds by denying the virtuous teachings of Islâm. They must be rational to accept that indeed Islâm is the Right Religion. It teaches righteousness and forbids evil deeds for the guidance of all mankind.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">[Click <a href="http://www.islamweb.net/emainpage/index.php?page=articles&id=109364" target="_blank">here</a> to visit the owner of this post. Allah bless the owner/s of this article. Amin.]</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">One basic element in the value system of Islam is the principle of equality or equity. This value of equality is not to be mistaken for or confused with identicalness or stereotype. Islam teaches that in the sight of Allaah Almighty, all people are equal, but they are not necessarily identical. There are differences of abilities, potentials, ambitions, wealth and so on.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The limitations in these examples are natural. The social limitations are those imposed by society as a result of experience and practice; in the final analysis, they are intellectual attitudes related to the previously </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">mentioned traits. There is, for instance, the established difference between the ignorant and the learned. No one would assign major responsibilities that are crucial to the community to an ignorant person.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yet, none of these differences can by themselves, establish the status of superiority of one man or race over another. The stock of man, the color of his skin, the amount of wealth he has and the degree of prestige he enjoys have no bearing on the character and personality of the individual as far as Allaah is concerned. The only distinction, which Allaah recognizes is the distinction in piety; the only criterion which Allaah applies, is the criterion of goodness and spiritual excellence. In the Quran, Allaah Almighty Says (what means): "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female, and have made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Indeed the most honored of you in the sight of Allaah is the most righteous. Indeed, Allaah is Knowing and Acquainted" [Quran 49:13]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is to assert that in Islam, no nation is created to be above other nations or to rise above them. Man's worth in the eyes of men and in the eyes of Allaah is determined by the good he does, and by his obedience to Allaah.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The differences of race, color or social status are only incidental. They do not affect the true stature of man in the sight of Allaah. Again, the value of equality is not simply a matter of constitutional rights or the agreement of noblemen or condescending charity. It is an article of faith, which the Muslim takes seriously and to which he must adhere sincerely. The foundations of this Islamic value of equality are deeply rooted in the structure of Islam. It stems from basic principles such as the following:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(1) All men are created by One and the Same Eternal God, the Supreme Lord of all.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(2) All mankind belong to the human race and share equally in the common parentage of Aadam (Adam) and Eve.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(3) Allaah is Just and Kind to all His creatures. He is not partial to any race, age or religion. The whole Universe is His Dominion and all people are His creatures.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(4) All people are born equal, in the sense that no one brings any possession with him; and they die equal in the sense that they take back nothing of their worldly belongings.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(5) Allaah judges every person on the basis of his own merits and according to his own deeds.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(6) Allaah has conferred on man, a title of honor and dignity.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Such are some of the principles behind the value of equality in Islam. When this concept is fully utilized, it will leave no place for prejudice or persecutions. And when this Divine ordinance is fully implemented, there will be no room for oppression or suppression. Concepts of chosen and gentile peoples, words such as ‘privileged’ and ‘condemned’ races, expressions such as “social castes” and “citizens” will all become meaningless and obsolete.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "O mankind, your Lord is One and your father is one. You all descended from Aadam, and Aadam was created from earth. He is most honored among you in the sight of God who is most upright. No Arab is superior to a non-Arab, no colored person to a white person, or a white person to a colored person except by Taqwa (piety)." [Ahmad and At-Tirmithi ]</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In another narration, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was asked: "Who among men is most favored by Allaah?' He, replied: "A man who does the most good to people." [At-Tabaraani ] Therefore, it would be unrealistic to assert the absolute equality of human beings, although humans are basically equal in rights, duties and accountability, and there is some degree of similarity in physical and mental traits, which enables them to understand and apply rules and laws. At the same time, it is obvious that there is a natural diversity among human beings in terms of traits and talents; therefore there will be limitations in natural, social and political positions. Some of the limitations are temporary, some permanent; some are infrequent, some frequent. However, a limitation is specific to a particular situation. It may not be generalized to inequality in other rights. A person who is morally upright is not equal to a crook in terms of morality, but they may be equal otherwise. Nor is an intelligent person equal to a dull one, but they are equal in other spheres. In the same way, a woman is not identical to man in her traits, gifts and abilities.</span></div>
